In-laws, Toddlers, Dogs, Parents- Make The Party Vibe You Want To Attend!

As someone at the party stated “There are a lot of beating hearts under this roof” and that is spot on.

There were the parents, siblings, spouses, a few toddlers and several dogs all running in and out.

I showed up late afternoon to teach a family cooking class and some were napping, some swimming, some setting tables and other feeding babies. This was a Full House!

As cocktail hour approached, the group made their way into the kitchen for Shrimp Remoulade and Cheesy Mushroom Dip. We broke up into groups and started working on the dishes.

Mom and son jumped on the Salty Browned Butter Oatmeal Skillet Cookie, one sister-in-law took over the Blistered Broccoli with Crispy Cornbread. I crushed and bloomed spices with a son for the Coriander and Cumin Spiced Potatoes. We moved at a quick pace to complete the menu.

They showed how proud they were of their spread and I had a delightful time spending the evening with a lovely South Louisiana Family.

On the menu: Peruvian Chicken with Cilantro Sauce, Cumin-Coriander Potatoes,

Green Herb Rice with Feta, Blistered Broccoli Salad with Currants, Pumpkin Seeds and Crispy Cornbread Crumbles and Salted Chocolate Oatmeal Browned Butter Cookies.
