King Cake Monkey Bread with Cinnamon Goo

This is another version of a short cut king cake monkey bread recipe with some flavor bombs. Christina Tosi from Milk Bar in NYC inspired these amazing flavors.

Ingredients:

3 cans Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls Grands

Cinnamon goo (recipe follows)

3 cups Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal, crushed

Plastic baby

1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

2/3 cup light brown sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup evaporated milk

Tube pan, Bundt pan or mini Bundt pans

Garnish: purple, yellow, green sanding sugar or sprinkles

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray the pan with cooking spray.

Separate cinnamon rolls, saving icing to use later. Cut each cinnamon roll into four pieces.

In a medium bowl combine the cereal toast crunch crumbs.  Take the cinnamon roll pieces and roll into the cereal. Place a layer of cinnamon roll pieces in the Tube pan, Bundt pan or mini Bundt pans.

Add 4 Tbl of cinnamon goo to the layer. Repeat with the rest of the cinnamon roll pieces to make another layer.

Be sure and add your plastic baby inside this mixture.

To make the filling:

Beat together cream cheese and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla, and milk. Mix until combined. Pour cream cheese mixture over cinnamon rolls.

 For tube and Bundt pan bake for 45 to 50 minutes for Mini Bundt Pans bake 20-25 minutes After baking, let pan cool 10 minutes.

Turn baked monkey bread out on plate and ice with glaze recipe or the cinnamon roll icing. Decorate with purple, yellow, and green sanding sugar.

Cinnamon Goo

Ingredients:

Equal parts by weight of:

Unsalted butter, melted and still hot

Sugar (light brown sugar, granulated or dark brown)

Ground cinnamon to and Salt to taste

Directions:

Mix together the butter, sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a small bowl until the sugar granules disappear and the mixture is smooth. Cool to room temperature.

Glaze Recipe:

Ingredients:

3 cups powdered sugar

2 Tbl butter melted

2 Tbl fresh lemon juice

1 tsp vanilla extract

2-4 Tbl milk

Directions:

Combine the powdered sugar, butter, lemon juice, extract, and enough milk until creamy. Pour over cake and decorate with gold, purple and green sanding sugar or sprinkles

Pecan Praline King Cake Monkey Bread

Ingredients:

Follow the recipe above and add these other ingredients into the sweet roll layers.

1 cup Butterscotch chips

1 cup caramel balls

1 plastic baby

You can use the same glaze as in original recipe and /or drizzle with store bought caramel sauce.

Zulu King Cake Monkey Bread

Ingredients:

Follow the recipe above and add these other ingredients into the sweet roll layers.

1 cup coconut (sweetened or unsweetened)

¾ cup dark chocolate chips

½ cup toasted pecans

¼ cup caramel balls

1 plastic baby

You can use the same glaze as in original recipe and/or drizzle with store bought chocolate sauce.
